The concept of medical-surgical tourism must therefore evolve by giving priority to safety and to the length of post surgery stay on site; this notion of “wellness on site” after an intervention will minimize the consequences of possible complications, and will best safeguard the interests of the patient and the reputation of a new medical practice that will develop if it gives itself the rules of common sense.
